Ruben Neves has already addressed his future amid Arsenal transfer links

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has already had his say on his future with speculation continuing to mount that he could be on his way to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Valued by CIES between £25-£35million, any transfer for the Portugal star is likely to cost in the region of £100m after manager Bruno Lage slapped a hefty fee on his star player. Lage has gone on to admit that players will be leaving Molineux and could not guarantee that Neves would be with the team next season.

As for the player himself, Neves has already gone on record to discuss his future and given some insight into what lies ahead of the upcoming transfer window. With plenty of teams, including the Gunners, in for his services over the past 18 months, Neves has had ample opportunity to speak about any future moves he makes.

"It's normal in football," Neves told Record in December 2021, addressing the ongoing speculation. "Whenever there's a transfer market there's a lot of talk, but my goal and focus are on Wolverhampton and I'm not going to change that, things have been going really well for me.

"I still have a lot to learn, I have a lot to give here. The future will be seen soon, I like to live in the present and I'm happy, I feel great in Wolverhampton and I'll focus here, because if I do things right I'm sure the future will be bright. My goal will always be to give my best and give even more for the club."

Should Neves opt to stay in Wolves, Arsenal have other transfer targets in mind. Leicester City's Youri Tielemans is a player wanted by Mikel Arteta and Edu and could cost less than the Portugal star. Lyon's Lucas Paqueta is also an option, though the Gunners face stern competition from Premier League side Newcastle United.
