Ruben Dias names the quality that could win Man City the Champions League

Ruben Dias says Manchester City have a squad full of leaders as they aim to complete the final step of a historic Treble.

Ilkay Gundogan will skipper the side in Istanbul as he did at Wembley but the captain is happy to let other voices have their say. Before the FA Cup final against United, it was Dias who addressed the team as they stood in their huddle and Rodri has also given motivational speeches in the dressing room.

City have a leadership group of five captains that are picked at the start of every season, but Dias stressed it is not just a handful of players who make sure they pick the team up. The club profile the personality of potential signings before buying them, and Dias likes what he sees in terms of similar traits.

"It’s an important part of my role as it is everyone else’s in my team," he said. "We’ve got five captains but all of us are kind of captains on our own and we can step up with the time is right.

"It’s a special characteristic our team has. The main word goes out to the club because they were able to get together a group of players who were all leaders in the past, we’ve bought all those leaders together, that’s why when these moments come we know when it’s time to step up and time to have strength within ourselves. You have many voices in the dressing room. That’s a special attribute our team has."
