Ruben Dias, Cole Palmer - Man City injury round-up and return dates vs Liverpool

Ruben Dias is not fit enough to return for Manchester City as Liverpool await in a mouth-watering Premier League showdown on Sunday afternoon. Separated by one point with eight matches remaining, the title rivals are ready to do battle at the Etihad Stadium (4.30pm).

Despite suffering a nasty-looking head clash during the Champions League victory over Benfica, midfielder Fabinho will be available for the Reds and they have no other injury concerns. As for City, meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has said that Portugal international Dias will not make a surprise comeback.

His absence from this match has long-since been predicted. Cole Palmer (foot) is the other concern as City weigh-up solutions to an issue that has plagued the Academy graduate throughout this campaign. Here is the current state of play on the City treatment table.

What Guardiola has said: "Everyone is fit, but not Ruben. I don't know [how long he will be out]. The doctor said four to six weeks and I think it's four [speaking on April 1]. He needs 10 more days or two more weeks."

What Guardiola has said: "He has had two comebacks, but he is still not clean in the process and it is painful. We have to take a decision over what to do. At the end we have to take a decision on what we have to do, because it has been a long time that has been unable to take a step forward."
