Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim hasn’t held back in his scathing assessment of the club’s current predicament.
The Red Devils are losing more often than they are winning and find themselves sitting in the bottom half of the English Premier League table.
Amorim bemoaned “the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United” after Sunday’s home loss to Brighton. Then it was later revealed that he smashed a TV in the dressing room as he lashed out at his underperforming squad.
But United do remain in the FA Cup and also face Rangers on Europa League duty this Thursday knowing victory could edge them closer to the knockout stage.
That’s why the latest Old Trafford boss is keeping regular contact with the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, because he knows he needs to stay positive and believe that things will improve.
Amorim has accumulated just 11 points from his first 11 league games, which is the worst record of any manager since Sir Alex announced his retirement in 2013.

"I speak with Sir Alex several times," Amorim told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I try to call him to keep being positive.
"It's really good because I feel the history of the club but it's really hard, as they did such a good job, to be the guy leading the team at this moment.
"It's really hard but we have to believe."
