RTE is experiencing a major online outage this morning as Cloudflare is down.

Visitors are getting an error message on the national broadcaster's sites and apps.

Additionally, the RTE Player and Radio Player are also down.

A spokesperson for RTE said on Twitter: "We are aware of some technical issues affecting RTÉ's online services this morning, in particular the news and radio apps.

"We are working to resolve the issues as quickly as possible and apologise for the interruption."

The outage has not affected ordinary radio and TV broadcasts.

The latest update shows Cloudflare has identified and issue and a fix is being deployed.

A spokesperson said: "The Cloudflare team is aware of the current service issues and is working to resolve as quickly as possible."

Visitors took to Twitter to voice their confusion this morning as one person said: "All RTE apps including the Radio Player appear to be down.

"Alexa couldn't play Morning Ireland so NEWSTALK playing instead!"

Another person said: "The RTE website, and all of their apps including RTE News, RTE Player and RTE Radio Player have been down since around midnight last night.

"Hoping that it’s an internal problem and nothing more untoward."

A third person added: "@RTEGold Hey, are the servers down or something? Can't get gold up on the radio player app or the RTE website."
