RTE viewers left with same complaint after World Cup third place playoff

RTE viewers were all lamenting the loss of Apres Match as the World Cup third place playoff aired on Saturday.

Croatia and Morocco played out Saturday's clash with the Croats winning 2-1 in an entertaining clash.

But the game used to be an opportunity for Apres Match to do a full length show, replacing the usual punditry team.

Apres match has not aired this tournament with much of the trios skits usually based around the legendary Bill O'Herlihy, Eamon Dunphy, Liam Brady and John Giles.

And viewers were left complaining that Apres Match was no longer on our airwaves.

One person said: "3rd place play-off analysis was much better when it was handed over to the #ApresMatch lads."

While another said: "Third and fourth place play offs without #AprèsMatch are a farce."

And another added: "They used to let apres match do the third place play off, they where better than this."

The World Cup final takes place at 3 pm today with Argentina taking on France in the showpiece event.
