Tommy Tiernan is receiving plaudits after another "powerful" interview on his RTE chat show on Saturday night.
The presenter welcomed singer Denise Chalia and marine biologist Kealan Doyle, while David Keenan provided the music.
However, it was an interview with his first guest that had viewers at home on the verge of tears.
Tiernan spoke to global dementia ambassador Helen Rochford-Brennan about living with short term memory loss.
On how the disease affects her every day, she explained that the main impact is on her short term memory and that yesterday "was pretty grey".
"It's about living within that day...and it is difficult to live with it, but it is livable with," she explained.
It was one particular question posed by the host that also attracted a lot of praise from viewers because of the empathy in which Tiernan approached the sensitive topic.
Tiernan asked, 'Will it kill you?', to which Ms Rochford-Brennan answered she is hopeful it won't as she has developed coping strategies and practices memory training exercises.
People took to social media in their droves to commend her for sharing her "inspirational" story, while Tiernan was also hailed for his compassion and sincerity.
