RTE viewers were full of praise for Damian Browne after he appeared on Friday night's Late Late Show.

Fresh from his 112 day rowing journey across the Atlantic Ocean, Browne appeared on the famous chat show to recount his journey.

Browne has raised over €70,000 for charity and he spoke about his journey on Friday's Late Late Show.

He said: "I often say because I couldn't think of anything better to do. Genuinely.

"Coming out of a professional rugby environment I was very driven to push myself and the avenue I saw was through extreme adventures.

"As far as I was concerned this was the hardest thing somebody could do on the planet and I pulled towards it to challenge myself deeply and as far as I'm concerned it is an extraordinary thing to do with your life, I want to do extraordinary things with my life and live an extraordinary life.

"When you're in the middle of the Atlantic and there is not a cloud in the sky and there are more stars than you can imagine, that is a very privileged thing to experience and those moments, you can't take them away."

And he came in for praise by viewers with one viewer saying: "Damian Browne is incredibly impressive as he conquered the Atlantic Ocean from New York to Galway while flying our flag."

While another added: "This Damian Browne interview with the boat was extremely interesting."

And another said: "Damian Browne is now Ireland's greatest athlete in my eyes. What he achieved is unbelievable."
