Taoiseach Micheal Martin was booed by a small group as he approached the podium before his speech at Beal Na Blath on Sunday afternoon.
The Taoiseach and Tanaiste were both in Cork for the Michael Collins centenary event with a big crowd turning out for the commemoration.
But as Micheal Martin approached the podium, jeers could be heard through the television from a small group, which left viewers angered.

One said: "Some lowlives booing at #BéalnaBláth as Varadkar and Taoiseach approach the stage."
Another said: "As An Taoiseach Michael Martin was arriving at Béal na Bláth he was warmly applauded but a few boos could be heard as well. Obviously these people were missing on the day God handed out common sense. Wasn’t the time or the place."
Another added: "Absolutely disgusted by those 'citizens' who booed our Taoiseach and Tánaiste at Béal na Bláth. Every right you have is protected by the same Constitution, laws and democracy whose office holders who abuse. You're a disgrace. Go and get your own mandate. We won't hold our breath."
In his speech, the Taoiseach praised Collins for his impact on Ireland that lives to this day.
Mr Martin said: "In his short 31 years Michael Collins made a deep, lasting and positive impact on our country.
"Shaped by the ideals of his community, he devoted his life to his country.
"He was a dynamic leader who could both inspire people and, in the middle of a bloody conflict, build a new administration from nothing.
"He is a key reason why we have been able to build a country which, while it still faces major challenges, has been transformed for the better.
"For this, today, as much as ever before, he deserves our gratitude and he deserves to be remembered as one of the greatest Irishmen to have ever lived."
