RTE viewers were raving after WWE Irish professional wrestler Becky Lynch's interview on the Tommy Tiernan Show tonight.
The Raw Women's Champion, who calls herself 'The Man', grew up in Baldoyle in Dublin. Since 2002, Becky has worked as professional WWE wrestler, and in February she and won Lita defeated Damage CTRL to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.
Speaking to Tommy Tiernan on the show, Becky chatted about growing up watching wrestling and achieving her dreams with over 21 years in the business. She said: "I was a big fan of wrestling, my brother was watching it on tv when I was seven and I'd dress up in my mam's clothes pretending to be a wrestler. At 12 or 13 I got hooked on it, seeing The Rock and others."

As a teenager, Becky began training at Fergal Devitt and Paul Tracey's wrestling school in 2002 along with her brother. She would go on to team up with her brother in mixed tag team matches during her early career.
Becky explained to Tommy how in recent years she has become known as 'The Man.' She said: "For a long time in my industry and other sporting industries the top person of the industry has been called 'the man' and until now they've been a man.
"Now I'm The Man, Tommy," said Becky. Tommy quipped: "All of a sudden I've been transported to some restaurant in New York and I'm meeting the head of the mafia and I'm thinking his missus turns up before he does."
Becky is next set to take part in the upcoming Wrestlemania which is happening in LA in the US from Saturday 1 April to Sunday 2 April.
Fans of the Tommy Tiernan Show flocked to social media to express their delight at seeing wrestling superstar Becky. One person said: "Wow delighted to see Becky Lynch on the show, what an absolute legend. Amazing wrestler."
However, other viewers were a little miffed that Tommy didn't seem to know who the wrestling star was. One person added: "She’s a big deal!!!!"
Another fan said: "Rebecca Quinn handled that interview with class and dignity. I’m really not sure why Tommy was so incredulous.
A third commented: "Would have liked to have heard more about Rebecca Quinn, but could see that Tommy was genuinely fascinated with exploring the ins and outs of the wrestling business."
