Sarah McInerney has laughed off claims that she dressed “completely inappropriately” on RTE's Prime Time.
The 41-year-old was messaged by a disgruntled viewer who took particular offence to a white pantsuit Sarah wore on Prime Time. The person praised Sarah’s delivery on TV but said that her “disco ball” outfit was off putting for people watching at home.
The message read: “You know I really like your delivery etc, but if you wouldn't mind me saying, the clothes you wear on television are completely inappropriate.”

The viewer continued: “You look like you're going to a disco most of the time, you would be better off looking at your fellow presenters and seeing how they dress.”
The mum-of-two also revealed to Irish Country Magazine that comments about her appearance don’t faze her as she is comfortable within her own skin. She shrugged off the abrasive message, saying that the viewer’s comments made her laugh more than anything else.
Sarah said in the interview: “Most of the time I get a giggle out of it - I really think that lady didn't mean to insult me, she was genuinely trying to help. Stuff about my appearance is water off a duck's back. I generally feel pretty comfortable with how I look, it doesn't get to me.”
She revealed that she is far more preoccupied about her work on RTE’s Drive Time and Prime Time programmes than superficial comments. Prime Time airs Tuesday and Thursday nights on RTE 1.
