Ryan Tubridy has praised Patrick Kielty as he wished him all the best on his Late Late Show gig.
The Co Down comedian is set to take the reigns for the popular RTE chatshow from Ryan this September. Ryan said he's "really, really" happy about the choice after Patrick was announced as the new host over the weekend.
Speaking on RTE Radio One this morning, Ryan said: "I just think he has, what they say in the business, the chops. He can cover the heavy side of things, and he’s got a background that will inform that.

"He will also obviously do the lighter end of things with great skill because he's a comedian, he's a funny guy." Ryan went on to say he felt like the show is going to be in really safe hands.
He added: "I think he’ll do a great Toy Show because he’s well able for it as a dad to young kids. He’s got a great, smart sense of humour."
Ryan will host his last ever Late Late Show this Friday after being at the helm for the last 14 years.
