"I got a mail from a man, sent 30 minutes into my show on Friday (being filled by a woman), complaining the the 'woman host' was waffling, that she never shuts up, and that this wasn't the place for (names the presenter of a fully speech-driven show with no music at all)."

He adds: "She, in fact, talked less often than I usually do and, to be honest, has a much better taste in music than I do.

"This isn't rare, or new, or even something that isn't everyday for the women who present shows in the job I do.

"Stop it. Just stop it."

Rick has been a presenter at RTE since 2001.
