RTE star Jennifer Zamparelli admits she wouldn't rule out fostering or adopting children in the future

TELLY host Jennifer Zamparelli has revealed she wouldn’t rule out fostering or adopting children in the future.

The 2FM star and Dancing With The Stars presenter spoke candidly about getting her tubes tied after she gave birth to her second child.

But Jennifer - who is mum to Florence and Enzo with husband Lau - said it wasn't the best idea to make such a decision so soon after giving birth when she wasn’t in her right state of mind, but she admitted it was the right decision in the end.

The RTE star said: “I wanted loads (children), yeah, because I loved kids….but it just happened later in life and Lau is adamant that we would only have two.

“Now I’ve come to terms with that, but I probably would’ve tried to sneak (another) one in.

“The first child was an emergency section, the second one was a section as well and literally I had such a bad pregnancy, I was so sick the entire time on the two of them, I said to the surgeon, like while you are down there, you might as well.

“I talk about it quite a lot on my radio show and Cormac Battle openly says he’s had the snip, but what I found quite odd was if a guy is going to have the snip, there’s lots of chats and counselling ‘are you sure’ but this was thrown at me in my worst possible state.

“I don’t think making a decision to have my tubes tied when I was so sick with the pregnancy. It is and was the right decision now in hindsight but at the time I had a lot of regrets about getting it done when I did,” she told Amy Huberman on her podcast Mamia and Me.

“I didn’t think about it enough. It’s unlike the snip because it is not reversible. Like it is a huge thing to have done.

“That was difficult, that was really difficult but like I said I’m really happy with the two kids but who's to say down the line that I won’t foster or adopt, which might be an option.”

Jennifer also opened up about her regret returning back to Rte so soon after having her children.

She said: “Don’t go back to work so soon. Just take the time. You don’t have to ask your radio co hosts to watch your breasts in case they start leaking in your radio show…

“I just went back too soon. I felt like I had to do that to show that I could do that. It was a new radio show, and it was just really tricky. Luckily Lau could stay at home, and it was only a few hours in the morning but I missed out on that time with her (Florence) as a newborn.

“Then I was filming Bridget and Eamon as well and then I was gone. I was so busy around that… these things happen, and these are opportunities that were never going to come again.

“After that happened, I probably had a bit of a nervous breakdown. After that, I’m so good at saying no to things. Thank god and it has taught me that,” she added.
