RTÉ show Up for the Match is back after a three-year break with Des Cahill and Jacqui Hurley

RTÉ show Up for the Match is back after a three-year break as Des Cahill and Jacqui Hurley return to studio.

The hit entertainment show always aired on the eve of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling and Football Finals, but it was shelved in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It heavily relies on a live studio audience and audience participation, so it couldn't go ahead as planned.

Up for The Match didn't air in 2021 either, again due to Covid-19 fears as the vaccine was being rolled out in Ireland last summer.

Des and Jacqui will chat to some of the biggest names in GAA, as well as surprise celebrity guests on the eve of the All-Ireland Hurling Final between Limerick and Kilkenny.

The show will be packed with lively conversation, music, comedy and craic.

Plus one lucky viewer will get a chance to win one of the last pairs of tickets to the All-Ireland final in Croke Park the next day.

Jacqui Hurley joined Up for the Match back in 2019 as she replaced Gráinne Seoige as co-presenter.

She previously told RSVP Live: She said: "I have known Grainne for a long time and she is an amazing broadcaster. She gets it as much as I do that they just made a decision to change things up.

"I have a huge amount of time for her and I certainly wouldn’t have felt that there was animosity on either side.

"I was asked to do a job and you don’t say no to those kinds of offers.

"It is nice to be thought of and it is a great career opportunity. I would hope that Grainne understands that and no doubt she does."

Experience the atmosphere, feel the anticipation and play your part on the Eve of the All-Ireland Finals by joining Jacqui and Des for Up For The Match, on RTÉ One, Saturday the 16th and the 23rd of July, after the news.
