RTE's Ryan Tubridy could be set to write tell-all book after leaving Late Late Show

Ryan Tubridy could write a tell-all book after he leaves the Late Late Show.

The RTE star could be set to be flooded with offers after he departs from the Friday night chat on May 26. And bookies Boylesports reckon a tell-all book will be the first thing the 49-year-old will be asked if he’s interested in writing.

With two books under his belt already, it's just a 6/4 shot that a Tubs autobiography hits bookshelves by the end of next year and a switch to the guest’s chair is also in the frame as he is just 7/2 to appear on the first episode of the next Late Late series to be grilled by his successor.

Tubridy has previously ruled out swapping his suit for a sequined shirt on Dancing with the Stars citing a lack of coordination, although it’s only 5/1 he is talked into a stint on the dancefloor in the next series of the RTÉ favourite.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Tubs will be snowed under with offers and while we think he could be convinced into tackling Dancing with the Stars, punters are definitely expecting him to spill the beans in a book after he drops the Late Late mic.”

The bookies even reckon Tubridy – who is private about his love life – will tie the knot again later this year. Odds for a white wedding are at 8/1.

A run for Áras an Uachtaráin (66/1) isn’t expected to materialise when Michael D. Higgins steps aside in 2025, although he is slightly more likely to follow in the footsteps of several family members at the next general election by running as a TD (40/1).

While a career change to politics may seem far-fetched, it is rated a much more likely option than Tubridy being charged with reversing Ireland’s dismal streak at Eurovision. Last week’s impromptu duet with Michael Bublé went down a treat in the Late Late studio, but he’s still out at 500/1 to sing at next year’s contest in Sweden.
