Claire Byrne was missing from RTE viewer's screens on Monday as she takes a break from current affairs programme Claire Byrne Live to enjoy some time away from work.
The TV presenter was absent from her radio show on Friday and missed her Monday night broadcast.
However, the show went ahead with broadcaster Katie Hannon stepping in to take over Claire's spot while she spends some time with her family over the mid-term break.
RTE told RSVP Live when Claire would be returning to work.
It said: “Claire is on a long-planned annual leave break and will be back on her radio show tomorrow morning, and Claire Byrne Live next Monday night. She was off air on Friday also.”
Katie had a jam-packed show as she and the team at Claire Byrne Live took a look at the sex for rent phenomenon which has seen landlords proposition tenants for sexual favours in exchange for a reduction or free rent.
The panel also discussed rural crime and the measures that need to be taken to give reassurance to elderly rural residents.
Listeners of Claire's popular morning radio show Today with Claire Byrne will have also noticed that Philip Boucher Hayes has been presenting the programme.
But Claire will return to the airwaves soon.
This isn’t the first time Katie has taken over for Claire as she presented her radio show back in August 2021.
Katie is no stranger to TV and radio as she presents her own current affairs radio show called Saturday with Katie Hannon which airs at 1 PM on RTÉ' Radio 1.
The host is originally from Listowel in County Kerry and has even called herself a “Kerrywoman in exile” as she now lives in Dublin with her family.
She studied at Our Lady of Fatima School in Listowel before going on to complete a degree in Journalism at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
After starting out as a journalist for The Herald at the age of 21, Katie covered fancy events as their social diarist.
She described herself as a bookwork and went on to publish her own book in 2004 called The Naked Politician.
It focused on the Irish political system and how elections are won and lost in the country.
