RTE release 'explosive' promo for second season of hit crime drama Kin that sees Clare Dunne return as mob boss

RTE has dropped the explosive promo for the new series of Kin – as the crime drama is set to return to our screens on March 19.

The second season of the show will see the Kinsellas at the top of the game in Dublin. However, they soon discover that killing Eamon Cunningham has created as many problems as it solved.

The Kinsellas have incurred the wrath of an enemy even more dangerous than Eamon, and where once there were unbreakable bonds of blood and family, now there is only suspicion, distrust and resentment.

But the greatest threat to the family emerges from within in the shape of a ruthless, bullying, agent of chaos. Fortunately, from positions of great adversity the boldest plans are often forged. And so it is with the Kinsellas.

In episode 1, we meet thee family in the wake of Eamon Cunningham’s death, and they are thriving. However, a new threat rears its head when members of a Turkish cartel inform the Kinsellas that Eamon owed them sizable debt – and since the Kinsellas killed Eamon, the debt is now theirs.

Elsewhere, Viking is released from prison intent on making trouble, and a looming presence from inside the family returns.

Returning cast includes Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Clare Dunne (Herself), Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), Sam Keeley (Joe vs Carole), Emmett J. Scanlan (Peaky Blinders), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander), and Yasmin Seky.

Last year, Yasmin dished the details of the second series of the hit RTE show - saying it will be even more “turbulent” than the last series.

The Dublin beauty – who plays Viking’s loyal girlfriend Nikita Murphy in the gangland series - said viewers can expect to see more drama from the Kinsella family.

Speaking exclusively to us, Yasmin revealed: “I can’t say much but it's definitely more turbulent than last year. People can expect more drama.”

Opening up about her character Nikita, Yasmin said people will see a more vulnerable side to her.

She said: “I feel like this year we are going to see a lot of vulnerability…. I think she’s… after what happened last year and Viking going to prison, reality has hit her and this year we are going to see that.”

Kin airs on RTE One on March 19 at 9:30pm.
