RTE Operation Transformation viewers moved by Dublin leader's touching journey

RTE's Operation Transformation viewers were moved by one particular leader on Wednesday night's episode.

24-year-old retail worker Katie Jones sparked quite the reaction on Twitter, being branded the 'most grateful participant ever' for her emotional journey on the show so far.

The young Swords woman's time on the show has seen her come a long way. In the first episode of the series, Katie explained her struggles with body confidence and revealed that since giving birth to her son Joshua, she has been concerned about high blood pressure.

On last night's episode, it was revealed that Katie brought her blood pressure back down to normal with her exercise and healthy eating plan.

Katie found it difficult to hide her pride when she learned that she had lost over four pounds this week.

Her joy was infectious as viewers took to social media to congratulate her.

One person said of the 24-year-old's journey: "I'm smiling watching Katie smiling."

Another said: "Katie is probably the most grateful participant ever on this show... it’s just fabulous to see her so happy."

Meanwhile another said: "Katie you are wonderful. Love watching you blossom. You are doing your little man so proud."

Fans of the show were also quick to praise leader Stefano who opened about his experience of bullying on Wednesday night's episode.

The Italian native was asked to speak about the topic of bullying at his local secondary school in Clonmel which was clearly a very emotional experience for him.

He said: "Me going back into the school gates tomorrow, that's going to bring back a lot of memories to me."

Viewers rallied behind him with one person writing on Twitter: "Stefano well done on sharing your horrendous story of bullying as it will help others. You are so brave!"
