RTE Operation Transformation viewers impressed with one contestant after honest admission

The penultimate episode of this year's Operation Transformation aired on Wednesday night.

And there was a good feeling all round, as the leaders were praised for their progress on their journey so far.

One in particular was a focus for host Kathryn Thomas, as Katie was continuing her training with a 5k run.

“It’s so important to encourage new mums,” she told host Thomas during the exercise.

“It's okay to lose yourself but it’s okay to be selfish too.”

And viewers were delighted with her efforts, taking to social media as the show aired.

One said: "You have to love Katie. She’s such a dote"

"How great is Katie?" added a second

There was widespread applause for the rest of the leaders too as all of them had a great week.

The contestants were given a fitness test to see how far they had progressed since week one.

John in particular showed a great jump, with a game of footgolf and a call from a member of U2 being squeezed in.

The Kilkenny man has become a real fan favourite over this year's show.

Meanwhile, Kathleen lost four pounds - but the big moment in the episode came when she was thanked by the show's GP for opening up about her battles with menopause.

The show's finale airs next week.
