RTE’s Marty Whelan has thanked a mystery fan who wrote a very clever poem about his show.
The unnamed poet praised the radio presenter for the fun and laughs they hear on the show as well as the songs.
RTE Lyric FM producer, Ian McGlynn was thrilled with the letter, saying: “Our listeners never cease to amaze me, such as taking the time and care to create this.”
The poem was written in purple pen, it had smiley faces drawn on the page, and most importantly, it rhymed.
The poem reads: “Thank you for all the fun and laughs you give to everyone, for reading every single letter and making mornings much much better.
“Thank you to the Marty Team, we hold you all in great esteem. The power behind the big machine, the songs, the jokes, the ads between.
“You help us face the day with calm, your work is like a soothing balm, please know that we appreciate the Marty Team - you’re all so great.”
