RTE bosses are reportedly doing everything possible to ensure that Ryan Tubridy will go out in style by having his dream guest join him on his final Late Late Show.
Tubridy is set to step down from hosting duties at the end of the current Late Late Show season and speculation continues to swirl regarding his replacement.
While RTE chiefs go through the process of selecting Tubridy's successor, they are also planning for the veteran broadcaster's last show by arranging for Paul McCartney to join him for his farewell on May 26.

The Irish Sun reports that Tubridy, whose 14 years as The Late Late Show host comes to an end this summer, will likely be rewarded with an interview with The Beatles star, that may take place over Zoom, on his final show.
"Gay Byrne got a Harley Davidson motorbike from U2 on his last ever Late Late," an RTE insider told The Irish Sun.
"You can bet Paul McCartney will be turning up to wish Tubs well on his last night on Zoom or in the studio."
Tubridy is a hardcore Beatles fan but has never had the chance to welcome McCartney to The Late Late Show.
Tubs has made no secret of the fact that McCartney would be his dream guest and RTE is eager to see his wish fulfilled before he brings the curtain down on his time as the presenter of the national broadcaster's flagship weekend chat show.
Tubridy previously admitted: "For many years, I’ve been asked 'who would I like to interview?' I’ve answered it so often and with the same name I think his people have taken an injunction out against me and a protective protection order in case I land in a door in London and say, ‘Please, would you come out and play?’
"That is Paul McCartney and, look, the fact is I’m a Beatles nut. I’m a McCartney guy."
Only time will tell if RTE bosses can nail Macca down for the big finale.
