Charlie Bird has thanked the public for their incredible fundraising efforts as the total raised for Climb with Charlie is expected to pass €1m on Friday.
Charlie is getting set to climb Croagh Patrick on Saturday as the culmination of a massive charity drive in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Pieta House.
The former Chief News Correspondent at RTE was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease back in October and has been very open about his journey all the way through to his latest update on Friday morning.

Accompanied by his best pal Tiger, Charlie, 72, with the help of his cloned voice, explained: "Hi everyone. Just one day to go before the climbs and walks around the country. We're moving fast towards our target of €1m. Here tonight from Westport, we're back where it all started with the Late Late Show for some fun.
"You will be able to donate to Climb with Charlie while watching tonight, and you're able to donate to the cause at tills in Dunnes Stores across the country as well. Thank you very much, bye bye!"
Meanwhile, cancer campaigner Vicky Phelan has left a special message for her friend Charlie as he prepares to scale the Mayo mountain.
Vicky had initially planned to go along to Croagh Patrick to support Charlie and the thousands of people climbing around the country to raise funds for the Irish Motor Neurone's Association and Pieta House.
But the campaigner has revealed she is in too much pain to make the journey.
