Fair City actor Tony Tormey reveals his job has put his kids off from becoming actors.
The star – who plays Paul Brennan on the long-running soap – is father to two children, Max and Issey.
But he admitted his children have no interest in becoming actors because they saw how their own father was treated while growing up.

He said: “Neither of mine have an interest in acting., They have grown up with me being stopped on the street, sometimes being hassled and I don’t think it’s for them.
“Like it or not, your life can be ruled by it, especially if you are well known.”
But he said he wants his kids to be happy with whatever they choose to work at in life.
“I want them to be happy and when acting is good, it is great, there is nothing like it, it’s the best job in the world, but when it’s not, it’s pretty bad.
“There is a life full of rejection, looking for bits here and there.
“We are lucky – we’re not movie stars, but we are successful in our profession.”
It comes after it was revealed that Tony is taking a case against Rte at the Workplace Relations Commission claiming he is legally entitled to a contract of indefinite duration with the broadcaster.
RTÉ has denied the claim saying the actor was always happy to be a self-employed contractor.
At a previous hearing in the case, the WRC heard that Tony earned between €99,000 and €150,000 a year in recent times for his part in the show.
The case has since been adjourned until a later date.
