A cat was rescued by the RSPCA after being found with a pipe stuck around his neck. The animal charity was contacted by a concerned member of the public who found the feline in the tricky situation on Tuesday (28 February).
Animal rescue officer Hannah Williams went to the scene to rescue the cat and, after seeing how tight the pipe was around his neck, realised it would be more than a one-person job. She took the cat to a vet, who removed the pipe.
Hannah said: “This pipe was so tightly wedged around his neck that it’s hard to say how it got there or how long it’d been there. The vet managed to remove the pipe and gave the cat a good check over. Thankfully he wasn’t injured after his ordeal.”
The cat lived on a farm near to where he was found in in Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire. After an overnight stay at the vet he was dropped back home.
Hannah added: "We just hope this moggy avoids any more pipes!"
