RSM latest to take space at 103 Colmore Row

Financial services and accountancy firm RSM has become the latest to announce plans to relocate its Birmingham team to a brand new office development in the city.

The company has agreed a deal for 12,132 sq ft of space on the tenth floor of the new 103 Colmore Row tower.

RSM, which employs more than 300 people in Birmingham, has signed a ten-year lease at the 26-storey block at the corner with Newhall Street. The rent is undisclosed.

Currently based within St Philips Point, Temple Row, the firm said the relocation would help it facilitate collaborative and flexible working while also creating an improved environment for staff and clients.

Regional managing partner Mark Taylor said: "103 Colmore Row aligns nicely with our brand and status in the market (and) also gives us plenty of scope for growth over the next few years.

"With 50 new starters set to join our Birmingham office this August, we look forward to seeing our team grow, particularly through boosting our graduate intake."

103 Colmore Row has been developed by a joint venture partnership of Sterling Property Ventures and Tristan Capital Partners and has more than 220,000 sq ft of office space alongside a new roof-top bar and restaurant.

Other firms to have already signed deals to take space there include law firms Browne Jacobson and Shoosmiths and finance services companies Gallagher, Grant Thornton and Tilney Smith & Williamson.

Flexible workspace provider x+why will also operate a hub there, joining its new base in Brindleyplace which opened last month.

James Howarth, managing director of Sterling Property Ventures, said: "RSM's relocation to 103 Colmore Row is further evidence of the flight to quality that's happening in the office market, with companies demanding the very best space for their staff and clients.

"Having an office that's environmentally friendly is also of paramount importance to ethically and sustainably minded businesses."

Paul Pritchard, director at Tristan Capital Partners, added: "This latest letting takes the building to 70 per cent let or under offer which is further evidence of the attractiveness of the overall offer at 103 Colmore Row.

"We continue to see significant demand for high-quality workspace complemented by a strong amenity provision."

Property consultancy JLL advised RSM.
