When a royal makes an appearance in public, it's likely that hours and hours of preparation and planning are behind it.
Each engagement or family event is usually carefully choreographed to go off without a hitch, and even the people they are meeting get briefed before coming face-to-face with members of the Firm. But no amount of planning can rule out any potential awkward moments that are often caught on camera and go viral around the world.
Just this week at Windsor Castle, King Charles was left in a potentially cringe-worthy situation while meeting US President Joe Biden. The monarch warmly greeted the American leader in the castle's quadrangle, shaking hands with Mr Biden - who was on a flying visit to the UK, as a guard of honour stood nearby.
Mr Biden, accompanied by the King, walked onto the grassed area of the quadrangle to inspect the Welsh Guardsmen who stood in two rows. But at one point, when the president stopped to chat with one of the guards, the King appeared to awkwardly step in to move the president along, who seemed to want to continue the conversation.
But it's not just the King who's been caught up in these sticky situations; nearly all other members of the Firm have too...
Kate Middleton's Marilyn moment
For royal ladies, one of the most likely candidates for causing an awkward moment while out in public is their outfit - just ask the Princess of Wales.
Back in 2018, she along with all of the other royals attended the wedding of Princess Eugenie, who was tying the knot with husband Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle. On the day of the wedding, a storm swept through the UK, causing blustery conditions for guests at the nuptials.
And the windy weather almost got the better of Kate, who had to battle with her dress to avoid it blowing up in a Marilyn Monroe moment. She had been wearing a beautiful fuchsia Alexander McQueen dress, but winds whipped up the skirt - luckily, she noticed on time - and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, was on hand to stand close to her to prevent it from happening again.
Sleepy Prince William
One of the down sides of appearing in public life as royal is that cameras are pointed on you almost everywhere go - and it once nearly got the better of Prince William.
Back in 2018, he attended the annual Anzac Day Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey alongside brother Prince Harry and sister-in-law Meghan Markle. The service came less than two days after the birth of his and Kate's third child Prince Louis.
And it seemed the sleepless nights that come with caring for a newborn appeared to catch up with William, who appeared to rest his eyes and had to stop himself from drifting off. If he had been a regular guest, this might not have been spotted - but of course, he was given the best seat in the house with cameras focussed on him throughout the ceremony.
Meghan Markle's tag faux pas
When it comes to royal tours, an inordinate amount of work goes into planning outfits to wear while on them. But while on her first tour to Australia and the South Pacific an error that we've all made happened to Meghan Markle.
The Duchess of Sussex stunned in a £400 bright red dress by Self-Portrait with cut out details and a waist belt when she arrived in Tonga. But it appears she forgot to take the tag off.
Most people admired her bold look, but a few eagle-eyed fans spotted the tag hanging from the bottom of the dress. You can clearly see the brand name Self-Portrait, and there is also some other text on the label.
Prince Harry's honeymoon offer
When Harry first started dating Meghan, many wondered if she would finally be the one he would walk down the aisle with, creating much excitement about their romance.
And when the prince went on a Caribbean tour in 2016 not long after their relationship went public, many were eager to know more about his new girlfriend - including the Prime Minster of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne.
Harry was left blushing when the couple invited them to visit on their honeymoon - despite not yet being engaged. He said: "Antigua and Barbuda has been voted consistently as the best honeymoon destination in the Caribbean [...] so, there will no be no other place in the Caribbean for sure that is better to spend your upcoming honeymoon whenever that may arise."
Princess Beatrice not recognised
Most fans would be able to spot a royal a mile off - but it seems not everybody is able to recognise members of the Firm, even when they are close up.
During the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Princess Beatrice was joined by her younger sister Princess Eugenie at a street party where they joined in with games. However, it appears that one lady wasn't quite sure who Beatrice was - and the princess was forced to explain, taking it all in her stride.
Shaking hands, the lady asked: "Who are you?" To which she replied: "My name is Beatrice and the Queen is my granny."
The lady asked further: "You're one of the royalties?" And Beatrice added: "I am, yes." Before she was asked: "And what relation are you?"
Beatrice continued: "The Queen is my granny. I'm very, very lucky."
