Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding ceremony was watched by millions around the world, with one notable moment being the a 14-minute sermon on the power of love.
But while the the late Queen appeared 'moved' by the words of the sermon, delivered by Bishop Michael Curry, Episcopal Church's first African-American leader, some royal relatives appeared 'amused', according to a new documentary.
The five part series 'The Real Crown: Inside the House of Windsor' airs today as a box set on ITVX and gives a behind the scene look into the private lives of the Royal Family with episode five Heirs and Spares focusing on Harry's messy relationship with his family, , the Express reports.
The Duke stepped back from his royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the US with Meghan Markle where the couple live with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Their wedding day took place on May 19 2018 and the American Bishop delivered a sermon to the guests gathered in St George's Chapel, which was broadcast to millions of fans watching on TV across the world.
As footage from the ceremony is played on the documentary, the voiceover on screen notes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared 'moved' by his words. However, other royals don't seem as touched by the Bishop's words as the camera pans to Kate Middleton and Camilla, then Duchess of Cornwall as the pair exchange a quick glance while Prince William appears to hold back a smile.
The voiceover explains: "When Harry and Meghan marry, they throw a different kind of celebration. It's intended to reshape what a royal wedding can be. The main event of the service is a black preacher from Chicago, with a reputation not only as an extraordinary orator, but also as a humanitarian."
The sermon spoke of love and God being 'intertwined' which the documentary claims to have 'moved' Harry, Meghan and the late Queen. The voiceover then says over clips of other royals: "It's a contrast with other members of the Royal Family, who seem amused by it."
The programme follows significant events in royal life in chronological order, with Harry's episode depicting him growing up as the so-called 'spare' who served with the Armed Forces in Afghanistan and stepped down as a working royal less than two years after tying the knot with Meghan.
At the time, the couple blamed their stepping down on the constant negative media coverage of Meghan and the Firm's failure to take action on the situation.
While raising their two kids Prince Archie, 3 and Princess Lilibet, 1 in California, the couple continued to make shocking allegations against Harry's family through their Netflix docu-series and Harry's memoir Spare. However, the Sussexes always kept their bond with the Queen and even named their daughter after Her Majesty's family nickname.
They travelled back to the UK as a family for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last June and introduced Lilibet to her great grandmother a few months before the Queen passed away. At the state funeral in September, the Duchess of Sussex looked visibly emotional as she and her husband joined the rest of the royal family for the sad occasion.
In a statement released by Buckingham Palace after Harry and Meghan's announcement to step down, the royals said they were 'saddened' by the couple's decision. They added: "Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."
The new series which is narrated by Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh and will be available to watch in the UK on ITVX from Thursday 20 April.
