Royals could end 'never complain, never explain' mantra to fight Harry and Meghan 'lies'

Prince Harry has accused his jealous family of trashing his "rock star" wife because she was becoming too popular.

The Duke and Duchess dropped a second trailer for their bombshell Netflix documentary today, which is set to launch yet another broadside at the royals.

It sees Harry sitting in a car somewhere in America, concluding the clip by warning, "No one knows the full truth - we know the full truth".

Much like last week's first teaser, the footage shows snippets of the couple's life, with them and others speaking over the videos and photos.

The move has left horrified courtiers bracing themselves for further allegations, with some quarters of the palace believing now is the time to rip their "never complain, never explain" mantra to counter any claims they feel are false.

One clip of the newly released trailer shows Meghan crying (Netflix)

The 64-second trailer begins with Meghan, 41, being lauded by various pundits. A clip of the couple holding hands has an American news channel voice over saying: "You hear that? That is the sound of hearts breaking around the world."

It then switches to the couple's now nemesis, Piers Morgan, discussing the American former actress, saying: "She's becoming a royal rock star."

The footage then turns to a clip of the couple enjoying one of their first walkabouts as a crowd shouts: "Meghan, we love you."
But the mood of the footage quickly then turns dark.

A photo from their wedding appears before Meghan says, 'and then…' as she clicks her fingers.

As a photo flashes up of the Royal Family, including William, Kate, Charles and Queen Elizabeth II, on the palace balcony, Harry adds, "Everything then changed. There's a hierarchy of the family."

He then goes on to accuse the palace of the planting and leaking stories to discredit his wife. "You know, there's leaking, but there's also planting stories."

The couple's lawyer, Jenny Afia, then tells the camera: "There was a war against Meghan to support other people's agendas' before Christopher Bouzy, a longtime supporter, says, 'it's about hatred, it's about race".

A strikingly personal and previously unseen clip flashes up of an exasperated Harry, 38, holding a hand to his face as his wife passes behind him while heavily pregnant with their daughter, Lilibet.

The Duke is then seen saying: "It's a dirty game".

The pair also makes a chilling reference to Princess Diana in the clip.

After a series of clips of photographers and newspapers being printed, Meghan is heard saying: "I realised they'll never protect you", before she is seen once again crying.

The Duke goes on to say: "The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution, it's a feeding frenzy."

He continues: "I was terrified. I didn't want history repeating itself."

The reported £100 million Netflix documentary is set to send further shockwaves across the globe and the royal family - with the trailer clearly taking aim at The Firm.

Prince Harry can be heard first saying: "It's really hard looking back on it and thinking 'what on earth happened?'.

Netflix also confirmed the day the documentary will hit screens. Its Twitter caption read: "Harry & Meghan. A Netflix Global Event.
"Volume I: December 8. Volume II: December 15."

It comes just days after the streaming giant released a 59-second glimpse into what the docuseries will include.

The documentary's bio was also updated to say: "In an unprecedented and in-depth documentary series, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story."

The trailer landed after it emerged that a photo in the first Netflix trailer intended to illustrate paparazzi hounding them showed invited photographers taking pictures at a Harry Potter film premiere, the Deathly Hallows: Part Two, in July 2011.

The series will be released on Thursday (Netflix)

It was some five years before the couple had even met and showed accredited members of the press taking pictures of celebrities on the red carpet.

Also shown was a photo of Prince Harry covering his face from paparazzi with his ex Chelsy Davy - but producers cropped her out to spare embarrassment.

Despite the palace being braced for further bombshell accusations, it was claimed, contrary to reports over behind-the-scenes "crisis talks", senior royals plan a very much "business as usual approach".

A source said: "The palace is, of course, weary of what may come, but they stand by their conduct, and as the Queen famously said before her death 'recollections may vary'.

"While some think enough is enough and that the royals 'never complain, never explain' mantra needs to be ripped up and the Sussexes claims countered others are of a much softer view, there is a genuine belief that now that the couple has been gone three years from the UK, what more could they have possibly left to say.

"They've spent more time abroad living their own life than they did carrying out duties on behalf of the royal family."
