The Royal Mint has unveiled a special three coin collection which features The Queen's signature, a first for UK coinage.
The new collection is to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's 70 year reign. The £5 coin collection celebrates The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year and cost between £13 and a whopping £2,865.
The coins forming this collection are available as gold Proof (£2,865), silver Proof (£92.50) and Brilliant Uncirculated editions (£13) from The Royal Mint’s website.

The first coin in the collection focuses on Her Majesty’s awards and honours; the second coin highlights Her Majesty’s work with charities and as a patron; whilst the third and final coin celebrates the Commonwealth, a ‘family of nations’ she has championed throughout her time on the throne.
Each coin in the collection features Her Majesty The Queen’s signature in the centre of each design a fitting tribute to a historic reign.
The coin collection has been designed by Irish artist and illustrator P. J. Lynch who has represented the three key areas of Her Majesty’s reign with richly symbolic designs.
P. J. Lynch said: “When creating this series, I initially focused on The Queen’s hands; she is so often shaking hands, it is how she welcomes and communicates with the people she meets. It led me to consider her signature, which is so symbolic, an instrument of state when she signs official documents, but also her personal promise and commitment.”
