Kendric Davis is plotting a path to the NBA through the Sydney Kings after joining the NBL club from rivals Adelaide on a one-year deal.
The Texas talent dominated for the 36ers last season, finishing second to Bryce Cotton in MVP voting.
Now 25 the high school and G League standout is craving a shot at the big time and thinks a move to the Kings, under Brian Goorjian and in the back court with fellow recruit Matthew Dellavedova, will do it.
"At my age, I've been able to achieve some incredible things, and I just felt I needed that platform that Sydney can provide, to give me the best chance of reaching the NBA - which is my ultimate goal," he said.
"The Kings have a legendary coach, strong roster, wonderful culture and amazing front office, and it just felt like the right move for me, especially once Delly signed."
Dellavedova left Melbourne United for a three-year deal at the Kings earlier this month.
"Delly and I, along with coach Goorj and CP (chief executive Chris Pongrass), talked a lot during free agency, and we all thought a back court featuring us two guards, along with the pieces already on the roster, meshed really well," Davis said.
The backcourt duo join Xavier Cooks, Bul Kuol, Kouat Noi, Jaylin Galloway, Keli Leaupepe, Tyler Robertson, Shaun Bruce, Jason Spurgin and Klairus Amir as contracted players.
