Royal fans react to new 'Harry & Meghan' Netflix trailer - from fury to #SussexSquad

Royal fans have had their say on the new ‘Harry and Meghan’ Netflix docuseries after the latest trailer dropped.

The latest teaser from the royal couple’s long awaited documentary was released today, announcing when the first episodes would be released.

The Sussex’s latest foray into celebrity life comes shortly after Prince William and Kate Middleton hosted the Earthshot awards in the US.

It also came as the royal family was rocked by damning revelations last week that a long-standing close ally of the late Queen ‘interrogated’ a black charity boss about where she came from.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have long been a fiery point of discussion online and the recent release is no difference.

Whilst some waded in to support the couple, others took to social media to blast them for a range of reasons.

In defence of the couple, one fan posted on Facebook, writing: “Let’s face it, the way Prince Harry openly loves and protects Meghan is what makes them [their detractors] the most angry & bitter about this whole situation.”

Others also backed up Harry and Meghan, another tweeted: “It's funny that the tabloids and big bullies of Meghan keep going on about how much Meghan and Harry are overshadowing William and Kate's US tour...

"But they put M&H on their front covers. You could have just focused on William and Kate's tour and not mentioned M&H?”

A third said: “The hostility aimed at Harry and Meghan is something which makes me feel uncomfortable”.

However, not everyone was as supportive of the royal couple’s actions.

In response to the final comment, a detractor of the couple was less complementary and laid the blame square at their feet.

They tweeted: “Did Meghan and Harry not start the 'hostility' with their narrative during the Oprah Winfrey interview & their actions since? They had scant regard for 2 of their sick older relatives”.

Another pointed to their actions and claimed the couple had been long planning to profit off of their royal status.

The self-proclaimed royal watcher said: “Harry and Meghan said they had no plans when leaving the royal family and had to get out to save themselves. They had no plans to sell their story or share it.

“Yet on their last day they hired a private photographer to follow them around to take pictures of them ‘leaving’.”

Another joked: “I think everyone should boycott Harry and Meghan’s show on Netflix, out of respect for their privacy.”

Other critics pointed out how some of the clips in the trailer weren’t relevant to the couple at all, and showed images of entirely different people.

A huge swelling of support for the couple came from the self-proclaimed #SussexSquad, who went about collecting old TV clips of reporters and detractors, like Piers Morgan, backing up the couple's claims of foul actors within the royal household.

One of these involved the famously combustible TV host saying he had been thanked by 'several' members of The Firm for his explosive rant against the couple following the Oprah Winfrey interview.

In the trailer Harry claimed members of the household had planted stories against them.
