The royal family have broken their silence after Prince Harry's two television interviews aired last night - to send the Princess of Wales a special birthday message.
The Duke of Sussex took part in two interviews which were screened in the UK on Sunday and the US overnight where he made a series of claims ahead of his new book launching tomorrow.
In his book and the two televised chats, Harry claimed that his sister-in-law Kate Middleton and his wife Meghan didn't really get on that well, according to The Mirror.
Following Harry's interviews, Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace declined to make a comment, but this morning they wished wish Kate a happy birthday on social media, as she celebrates her 41st today.
On their Twitter account, they shared a sweet snap of Kate greeting a young girl in Wales last year with the caption: "Wishing The Princess of Wales a very Happy Birthday today!" alongside a cake emoji.
This is not the first time Kate's birthday has fallen amid some royal drama, as on January 8, 2020, Harry and Meghan announced that they would be stepping back from their royal duties.
In last night's ITV interview with Tom Bradby, Harry accused Kate of "stereotyping" Meghan, saying her behaviour caused a barrier.
Tom asked the 38-year-old why the relationship got off on a bad note, Harry says there were "lots of different reasons".
He said: "I don’t think they were ever expecting me to get into a relationship with someone like Meghan, who had, you know, a very successful career. There was a lot of stereotyping that was happening, that I was guilty of as well, at the beginning."
Tom then asked what he meant by that, Harry continued: "American actress, and that was playing out in the British press in the media at the time as well.
"I had that in the back of my mind, and some of the things that my brother and sister-in-law – some of the way that they were acting or behaving definitely felt to me as though unfortunately that stereotyping was causing a bit of a barrier to them really sort of, you know, introducing or welcoming her in."
