Royal family: Prince Harry looks just like not-so-distant ancestor, according to fans

One of the many benefits of being a royal is that your ancestors are so well documented, that it's easy to trace them back and, depending on how long ago they lived, see photographs or portraits of them.

Quite often, royals are able to find detailed information about their relatives who lived many centuries ago, unlike most of the general public, MyLondon reports.

With a very strong ancestral line, it is quite easy to see how some members of the Royal Family bear resemblance to their ancestors from many years ago, having picked up some elements of their DNA.

And now, fans of the royals have pointed out that Prince Harry bears a striking similarity to his great-great grandmother.

Mary of Teck was the Queen Consort of the United Kingdom and the British Dominons, in addition to Empress consort of India, from 1910 to 1936.

Just like her great-great grandson, Mary of Teck had red hair, and the similarity they both shared during their youth is particularly striking.

Although he may now be living stateside, Prince Harry cannot escape the resemblance he bears to his ancestor, as social media users have suggested.

When referencing the similarity the queen consort and prince share, one person on social media has branded them 'twins'.

Historian Rebecca Rideal previously said: "You can see Queen Mary's facial features in our current Queen, her children and even Prince Harry."

"Queen Mary, looked EXACTLY like Prince Harry, down to the nose, teeth, set of the eyes, and bone structure. And of course, the BEAUTIFUL red hair," one person commented.

Another added: "You can see Prince Harry in Queen Mary's face."

But Mary and Harry are not the only royals who fans claim look alike.

Prince Charles is often cited as the spitting image of Queen Victoria's eldest son, Edward VII, who became king in 1901, following her death.

Meanwhile, some have drawn comparisons between Prince William and his 21 times great-grandfather Edward Longshanks, who ruled until 1307.
