Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are depriving their children of knowing their blood relatives, a royal expert has sensationally claimed after weeks of the Duchess’ kooky relatives once again publicly taking aim at the royals.
The Duchess of Sussex, 41, has an estranged relationship with her father Thomas Markle Snr after it broke down just days before her wedding to Prince Harry.
Their relationship came to a head when Thomas became the centre of a scandal as he was caught staging paparazzi pictures of himself in exchange for payment.
The Duke of Sussex addressed the incident in his memoir Spare, in which he said his wife was left devastated and experienced "pure grief".
Thomas has since urged Meghan to reconnect "before it's too late", and a royal commentator has advised the Sussexes to do the same.
Expert Jennie Bond has told how her heart goes out to Thomas Markle, despite all he’s done to make a public show of his strained relationship with his daughter.
“[He] clearly has been a fool to himself and a fool to the world when he was taken for a ride with those photos before the wedding,” she told new! magazine.
“Despite the fact he keeps going on television – which is quite literally the worst possible thing he could do – I mean, he should realise that this is the one way to drive Meghan further away. I feel very sad that a father who is clearly very frail is having to say things like ‘she is mourning me’ and ‘I won’t let her bury me while I’m alive’.”
Despite his past actions, Jennie offered an explanation as to why she thinks Thomas has remained cut out.
She told the publication she feels it’s desperately sad that he has not met his grandchildren, and that Meghan and Harry should show more love towards her family.
“When he said, ‘Please can I get to know my grandchildren? That’s the point where you feel very sad for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet because it is possible that they’ll never know their grandfather and that is real deprivation,” she told the publication.
“Harry and Meghan are depriving their children of knowing their blood relatives, so I’m just mystified about how Meghan can be so unforgiving to her father. She and Harry talk so much about kindness and love, but it just doesn’t seem to extend to their own families.”
Jennie encouraged an end to the relationship stalemate, but did concede that the comments from Meghan’s family are nothing short of “poisonous”.
She told it’s “very, very sad” that the actress’ family feel that scathing TV interviews are the only way to convey their feelings to Meghan.
“It’s very sad that they feel the need, or at least Samantha seems to feel the need, to be really quite poisonous – what right has she got to say that Harry and Meghan’s relationship is toxic? What does she really know about it?”
