Royal Caribbean let the cat out of the bag when it came to the name of its third Icon-Class ship,
Many social-media groups shared postings with the name before it was announced, as the cruise line had listed sailings for sale on its website. At the same time, while the Legend of the Seas name might have gotten out early, the exposure does not dim cruisers' excitement about the ship.
In addition, Royal Caribbean did have some secrets to share about its upcoming megaship.
This may be Icon 3, but it won't be a copy of either of its sister ships, Icon of the Seas and the soon-to-debut Star of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean shares details on Icon 3
Transcript:
This is Cruise News Today with Doug Parker.
Good morning. Here's your cruise news for Wednesday, February 19.
A new cruise ship: Royal Caribbean has revealed the name of its next Icon-Class ship, Legend of the Seas, after weeks of pretending that we didn't already know
Now currently under construction in Finland, this 250,800 gross registered ton floating city will debut in July of 2026 first in the Mediterranean before its repositioning to the Caribbean.
Once it's over here, itineraries will include Aruba, Jamaica and Royal's private island, Perfect Day.
The ship will feature a skywalk thrill ride, the largest water park at sea, and an LNG-powered propulsion system.

Carnival Cruise Line celebrates milestone
And Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy is celebrating 10 years with the company this month.
Since 2015, Duffy has overseen the addition of nine Carnival cruise line ships, hosted over 42 million guests, and led major refurbishments.
She's also spearheaded fundraising events, raising $27 million for the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Way to go, Christine. Congratulations.
Cruise ships pass inspection; Royal Caribbean charges fee
And two cruise ships have recently passed the U.S. public health inspections with a perfect 100% score: the brand-new Disney Treasure and Norwegian Escape got passing marks
The unannounced inspections are conducted twice a year to assess sanitation, food safety, water quality and overall hygiene. To achieve a perfect score ships must meet all 44 health and safety criteria outlined by the vessel sanitation program.
And a Royal Caribbean passenger is facing a $215 fee to update her last name after getting married The issue arose because her cruise and airfare were booked before she received her new passport.
Now, while Royal Caribbean typically allows free name changes, airfare booked through its air-to-sea program may incur extra charges. The cruise line advises guests to verify name-change policies before sailing and bring supporting documents, such as a marriage license, if names don't match.
