Taylor Swift, it should be noted, is not on the Taylor Swift Cruise that began on Oct. 21 on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas. The singer actually has nothing to do with the partial charter cruise that celebrates her music.
The event's organizers planned the cruise to follow Swift's "Eras Tour" concert in Miami the previous weekend. That was a logical move given how much people spent on tickets to the show, hotel rooms, and travel.

In theory, booking a four-day cruise after that would not be that big a stretch and the charter group booked over 200 rooms.
It was a celebratory event taking place on a ship that Swift had actually performed on in 2011. Events on Allure, however, took a negative turn on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Doug Parker covered the event on the latest edition of his Cruise News Today YouTube series.

Allure of the Seas has a man overboard
"Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas had a man overboard last night. A guest on board told Cruise Radio that Code Oscar was called out around 9.35 on Tuesday evening," Parker shared.
The event happened on the ship's starboard side off the coast of Nassau, Bahamas, as the ship headed to Perfect Day at CocoCay.
"Now, search operations involving the U.S. Coast Guard, rescue boats, and a sister ship, Utopia of the Seas, all scanned the area," he shared. "The ship was eventually released after a couple of hours of searching."
While Utopia has given up the search, the search itself remains ongoing.
"At the time of broadcast, the U.S. Coast Guard is still combing the area with airplanes and boats. This is the 15th man overboard for the cruise industry in 2024," Parker added.
Cruise News Today reached out to Royal Caribbean for comment and has not heard back, which was understandable given the time of night when the man went overboard.

"The Taylor Swift-themed cruise left Miami on Monday. And for reference, Taylor Swift is not on board this sailing. And it was a busy day for medical emergencies. Four guests were medically evacuated at sea on opposite sides of the world. Carnival Panorama had to make an emergency stop in Guam yesterday to offload a guest before resuming its Trans-Pacific cruise back to Long Beach," Parker shared. "Closer to home, two happened on Carnival Liberty as well as the MSC Meraviglia was on its second day of a 7-night cruise from New York to the Bahamas. It had to divert to Charleston, South Carolina because of a medical evac."
Meraviglia spent an extra day at sea and is skipping Nassau this week.
