Royal Blood "smashed" their set as they kicked off their Friday slot on the Glastonbury Pyramid stage with a performance of Out Of The Black.
Fans of the band and viewers of Glastonbury at home praised the band for their set as bassist and singer Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher wowed the crowds at Worthy Farm.
The performance comes after the band were slammed by fans after they called out the "pathetic" crowd and walked off stage holding two middle fingers up at BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Dundee last month.
Front man Mike Kerr took to the microphone and said: "Well I guess I should introduce ourselves seeing as no one actually knows who we are.
"We are Royal Blood and this is rock music."
He then asked the crowd: "Who likes rock music?"
The duo were met with cheers and Mike quipped: "Nine people, brilliant."
Mike then introduced the crowd to drummer Ben but then added: "We are happy to clap ourselves because that was so pathetic. Well done Ben.
The singer turned to the camera onstage as said: "Can you clap for us? You're busy? Can you clap - oh yes even he is clapping."
But there appeared to be no signs of unhappiness from either of the band members as they wows on the Glastonbury Pyramid stage earlier this evening with hits including Come On Over and Mountains At Midnight.
“Glastonbury how are you doing? We’re Royal Blood,” Kerr addressed the crowds before launching into another hit as the thousands of festival goers cheered.
Viewers at home were equally pleased to see the band enjoying their time on stage after last month's stormout. One BBC viewer tweeted: "Royal Blood are f****** boss man, hardest slot there’ll be at glasto after the foo fighters an they sound superb."
Another tweeted: "Tonight Royal Blood seem to be stuck in the love / hate box, but I still think they are great."
"Don't get the hate for royal blood, I like their edginess," said a third.
Another said: "Royal Blood smashing it at Glasto’."
Another viewer tweeted: "I do not like rock music whatsoever but that Royal Blood performance at #glastonbury2023 was insane."
The band also took the opportunity to make a nod to Arctic Monkeys, who are headlining the Friday night, with drummer Ben sporting a black Arctic Monkeys vest during his performance.
His attire didn't go unnoticed by viewers at home who took to social media to discuss the wardrobe choice.
One Twitter user commented: "Ben Thatcher from Royal Blood is wearing an Arctic Monkeys shirt at Glastonbury, what a fab guy."
Another echoed them as they tweeted: "Do enjoy that Royal Blood’s drummer is wearing a top that says ‘Artic Monkeys’ on stage!"
The secret behind the tshirt was revealed by some fans as one pointed out that last time Arctic Monkeys headlined Glastonbury, drummer Matt Helders wore a Royal Blood tshirt. One fan explained: "Last time Arctic Monkeys played Glastonbury, Matt Helders wore a Royal Blood T-shirt."
