Sir Michael Stoute and Bay Bridge enter Day 2 of Royal Ascot as talk of the town, with expectations high ahead of the four-year-old's debut at one of racing 's biggest meets.
Bay Bridge is the obvious favourite to claim a first-place prize of almost £600,000 in the Prince Of Wales' Stakes at 3.40pm, one of seven races teed up for a sun-drenched slate on Wednesday. Japanese contender Shahryar will be the main source of competition after winning the Dubai Sheema Classic in March, but it's Stoute's steed that's captivated much of the pre-race amazement.
That may be the only Group 1 fixture on the Day 2 schedule, but another slew of top talent is set to compete for the Queen's Vase at 3.05pm. Trainer Roger Varian has moved favourite Eldar Eldarov into frame for an Ascot debut win in what will be only his third race, boasting a 100 per cent winning record to date.
More Group 2 action awaits in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at 4.20pm when jockey Tom Marquand hopes to make up for Tuesday's narrow miss in the St. James's Palace Stakes. Mirror Sport breaks down the runners, race times, winners and more as Day 2 of this year's Royal Ascot festival unfolds.
