ROY KEANE has been urged to drop his Sky Sports persona if he lands the vacant Hibernian managerial position.
The Easter Road club are on the hunt for a new boss after they cut ties with Shaun Maloney earlier this month.
Keane is the heavy favourite to land the position, despite reports suggesting that Hibs are in no rush to put a manager in place.
John Barnes has experienced management in Scotland with Celtic and he reckons Keane could be a good appointment for Hibs.
But he insists the Manchester United legend must drop the tough-talking persona he is famous for when conducting punditry duties on television.
Speaking to BonusCodeBets, he said: “The way Roy Keane behaves on Sky Sports will not be a part of his management style.
“His management style will have to be different because modern players don’t respond to that [outward criticism and irritation] anymore, no matter who or where they are.
“Roy won’t go into Hibernian and manage in the way he’s been overcritical of players during his Sky Sports tenure, shouting and screaming about players and the demands he’s saying that he’d put on them.
“People need to separate Roy Keane from Sky Sports and Roy Keane the manager [he’d be different].”
