Roy Keane slams ‘disrespectful’ Brazil dancing during South Korea thrashing - ‘It’s like watching Strictly’

Party time: Brazil turned on the style against South Korea

Roy Keane hit out at the Brazil team for their “disrespectful” dancing when celebrating goals scored against South Korea.

The Selecao lived up to their billing as tournament favourites with a scintillating display of attacking football inside Doha’s Stadium 974, racing into a four-goal lead before half-time.

Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr opened the scoring before Neymar scored from the penalty spot, while there also goals for Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta in the opening 45 minutes.

All of the goals were celebrated in a similar fashion, with the players grouping together to dance. After Richarlison’s goal, a calm finish to cap off a thrillingly incisive team move, the players rushed over to manager Tite to do the Tottenham forward’s trademark ‘Pigeon/O Pombo’ celebration.

Keane, working as a pundit on ITV, was not impressed.

“I think that’s really disrespecting the opposition,” he said.

“It’s four [nil] and they do it every time. I don’t mind the first ‘jig’ or whatever they’re doing but it’s the one after that and then the manager getting involved.

“I’m not happy with it, I don’t think it’s good at all, it’s disrespectful.”
