Roy Keane reveals what Mohamed Salah did for Liverpool this season to make him want to break his TV

Roy Keane has revealed how Mohamed Salah recently made him so angry that he wanted to put his foot through his television.

Former Manchester United captain Keane made the admission after Salah missed yet another penalty for Liverpool. This time the miss came against Arsenal at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, who were trailing 2-1 at the time, won the penalty at the start of the second-half after Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale brought down Diogo Jota as he came to try and claim a corner.

Salah was handed the ball and the responsibility to try and equalise from the penalty spot after his initial 42nd minute finish had reduced the deficit. However, the forward sent his spot kick wide of the target.

The miss came just weeks after the Egyptian also fired wide from 12-yards in the away defeat to Bournemouth. Prior to those penalties, Salah had never failed to hit the target from the penalty spot for Liverpool.

And not only did Keane have no confidence that Salah would convert against the Gunners, but he also revealed that the forward’s reaction to missing against the Cherries last month made him furious.

“No I didn’t,” he said on Sky Sports when asked if he fancied Salah to convert from the spot.

“Do you know he missed a penalty a few weeks ago at Bournemouth and I was really annoyed, I nearly put my foot through the television watching it because he was smiling five minutes after he missed it.

“Today I was looking at him and I didn’t feel it, and obviously if you don’t hit the target it’s impossible to score, so I just didn’t fancy him, I don’t know what it was.”
