Roy Keane has reportedly been given the chance to manage in football again after talks with Sunderland.
It was reported that Keane was in talks with Sunderland over a return to the Stadium of Light after the club recently parted ways with Lee Johnson.
And Keane looks set for a remarkable return to the club with Luke Edwards of the Telegraph reporting that Keane has been offered the job after productive talks with the club.
Keane, 50, was in charge of the Black Cats for over two years before standing down in December 2008, and he has not held a senior managerial role since he was sacked by Ipswich Town in January 2011.
He subsequently served as an assistant for Republic of Ireland, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest, while he now occupies a role as a regular pundit on Sky Sports' Premier League coverage.
Sunderland are on the hunt for their next manager having sacked Lee Johnson on Sunday following a humiliating 6-0 defeat by Bolton Wanderers one day earlier.
