Roy Keane has doubled down on his Harry Kane praise and claimed the Tottenham striker would “walk into” the current Manchester United team.
Earlier this week, Kane leapfrogged Arsenal legend Thierry Henry to become the sixth highest goalscorer in Premier League history.
And he continued his fine recent form, scoring against United as Spurs fell short in a five-goal thriller on Saturday night.
Kane lashed in his 11th goal of the campaign during the 3-2 defeat to United and pulled the strings for the visitors in the first half, before Cristiano Ronaldo took centre stage after the break.
HAVE YOUR SAY! Would Man Utd have a chance of signing Harry Kane this summer? Let us know in the comments
The England skipper may have come out on the losing side this time around, but it was another impressive Manchester showing for Kane after he inspired Spurs to a win over City last month.
And Sky Sports pundit Keane predicted just how effective Kane could be against United and suggested he would easily find his way into their starting lineup.
“What can we say? He’s a brilliant player, a huge player - he was slow out the blocks, he was supposed to leave, obviously supposed to leave but he’s bounced back,” Keane said prior to kick-off at Old Trafford.
“He’ll be coming back today, you can see with his stats [his quality], we saw how good he was against Man City. Kane and Son would walk into this Manchester United team, that’s the big threat.
“You can identify the threat but not many teams have stopped it and that’s the sign of a brilliant player because he turns up and does it.
“United will have to be on their guard because if you give him a chance it’ll be in the back of the net.”
But it isn’t the first time Keane has suggested United should make a play for the Tottenham talisman, telling former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make a move for him back in 2019.
"Go and get [Harry] Kane," he urged his old team-mate. "Just go and get Kane from Spurs, easy. He'll score 20 goals a season with his eyes shut. They're in disarray, so go and get him."
Kane looks destined to be at the centre of more transfer speculation this summer, having ultimately failed to complete a move to Man City last summer.
Pep Guardiola now appears set to switch his attention to Erling Haaland, potentially leaving the door open for United, with interim boss Ralf Rangnick already confirming they will be in the market for a centre forward.
"This is obvious," Rangnick told reporters when asked about the need to sign a new striker. "Edison's contract is running out in the summer, and the club needs the best possible centre forward. This is an obvious one. I think everyone is aware of that."
