Speaking in an exclusive interview with Off the Ball, Keane said he is able to head back every three weeks or so and said that his flexible working calendar helps him get home.
He said: "I definitely get back every three weeks for a few days. There's always reasons to get back and I'm very lucky with the work I've got a bit of freedom and I can kind of duck and dive and get back to Ireland whenever I please which is quite regular."
Keane also joked about appearing on the big screen during the All-Ireland Football semi-final between Cork and Dublin.
The Ireland legend was jeered by Dublin supporters and Keane joked about the 'lovely' reception he got.
"Yeh, lovely. The beauty with the break is I get back to Ireland quite a bit and got to a couple of GAA matches and couple of soccer matches.
"I was obviously disappointed at Croke Park not with the booing but with the result, Cork were well beaten. But it was a good day out and I was well looked after"
