Roy Keane names the one player Crystal Palace are missing most amid nightmare start to season

Roy Keane believes Crystal Palace are missing Joachim Andersen after their nightmare start to the season.

Palace have taken just three points from their first eight games in the Premier League, leaving them in the bottom three.

Oliver Glasner’s side are still yet to win in the league this campaign and suffered their third successive defeat when they lost 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on Monday.

And former Manchester United midfielder Keane believes Palace are missing Andersen - who they sold to Fulham for £30million - more than Michael Olise who joined Bayern Munich for £51m.

“The one player who I believe Crystal Palace are missing than the others, and I know they sold him, but they’re missing Joachim Andersen,” Keane said.

“He’s a huge loss to them. He’s a calming presence and he can score a goal. I know they had to sell a few players and bring in some cash but losing him was massive for them.”

Palace paid £25m to sign Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal but he has yet to show his best form, scoring just once in the EFL Cup from six appearances.

“For someone like Eddie Nketiah, someone who has been at Arsenal and not had many minutes in the first team, but finally get the opportunity to move to another club and play regularly where the pressure is off – some players thrive in that situation, but others can’t handle the pressure,” Keane added.

Palace are back in action on Sunday when they welcome Tottenham to Selhurst Park.
