Roy Keane met with a young basketball player over the weekend who suffered life-changing injuries when he fell from a height last year.
Adam Drummond was a talented competitor and studied on a sports scholarship in the United States prior to the incident.
While back home in Cork city, Adam suffered the devastating injury and was told by doctors that he had a 1% chance of ever walking again, reports Cork Beo.

Since the accident, he has become adjusted to life in a wheelchair, and met with Keane on Saturday.
Adam shared a picture with the Manchester United legend, commenting on it: "Great chat with Keano today. Two fellas who wouldn’t be shy to question a referees call."
To help Adam fully adjust to life after the accident, the crew from RTE's DIY SOS arrived in Cork last month to start works on rebuilding his home to make it wheelchair friendly.
After a call out for volunteers in March of this year, the DIY team was assembled and works got underway at the beginning of May. Like all other DIY SOS projects, the entire process was filmed and will be shown on RTE as the second episode of series three.
Prior to their arrival, Adam and his parents were forced to temporarily move out of their family home in Blackpool as it was not suitable for a wheelchair.
The three of them moved into a ground floor apartment owned by a friend, but can happily move back into the renovated family home now that the DIY job comes to an end.
When the accident happened, a close friend of Adam set up a GoFundMe to try and raise money to help out him and his family. The fundraiser has gone extremely well, raising over €120,000 of the €140,000 target.
Donations to Adam's GoFundMe can be made here.
