Roy Keane has failed to make the list of dirtiest Premier League players after a stat-driven list was released.
Four Four Two released a list of players with the most fouls committed in Premier League history but former Manchester United hardman Keane failed to make the list.
The Cork midfield star may well have made the list, but records only began in the 2006/07 season. Keane jointly holds the record for the most red cards received in English football, being dismissed a total of 13 times in his career.
The most infamous of his sendings off came for a horrendous challenge in 2001 in the Manchester derby that contributed to ending the career of Alf Inge Haaland, Erling Braut's father and a former Leeds and Manchester City player.
However, there were two Irish players on the list. James McCarthy, now of Celtic, played for Everton, Crystal Palace and Wigan in the Premier League and ranked 49th on the list with 311 fouls.
Surprisingly high on the list is Ireland striker Shane Long, who clocks in at 11. Long has committed 410 fouls in his time in the Premier League and was played for Reading, West Brom, Hull and Southampton.
Overall, former Aston Villa and Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry tops the Four Four Two list with striker Kevin Davies in second.
The Premier League’s all-time record appearance maker, Barry, also tops the charts for fouls, having been punished 633 times during his time with Aston Villa, Manchester City, Everton and West Brom.
The midfielder was only sent off six times in the top flight, although he was booked on 123 occasions – another list he tops, ahead of Wayne Rooney on 102.
