Roy Keane can't even muster anger as he admits sadness watching Liverpool batter Man Utd

Manchester United icon Roy Keane failed to even get angry over his former side's most recent humiliating defeat at the hands of fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds side ran riot against Ralf Rangnick's men and put four past them with no reply as they laid bare the gulf in quality between the two teams. Luis Diaz opened the scoring before Mohamed Salah ended his mini- Premier League drought with a second inside the opening half hour.

The second-half started a tad slower from a Liverpool perspective but quickly gathered pace as Sadio Mane made it three with Salah netting his second less than 10 minutes from time to seal the 4-0 score-line. United have missed out on the chance to go level on points with fourth-placed Spurs after the dismal display.

Instead, Rangnick's men now sit sixth in the Premier League having been leapfrogged by Arsenal who have played two games less and now boast a better goal difference. Keane explained how the overriding feeling at full-time was one of sadness, rather than anger.

"I think it was anger at the start at the season, now I just think it is sadness. You look at the team today, there was no heart, no soul, no leaders," the Irishman told Sky Sports. "There is disarray at this football club, from the top to the bottom. The fans have got no times for the owners. They want new owners, a new manager and new players."

Keane continued by explaining how far United have fallen since he last donned the famous red shirt and questioned the values of those in the squad nowadays.

"It’s so sad to see because it is not the club I played for. It is not what Manchester United stood for when I played for them, it is just chalk and cheese. I don’t see a Manchester United team out there fighting or playing with pride."

Keane went on to address the difference in talent between the fierce rivals and admitted United are a world away from their Merseyside counterparts. A number of United's players are already being touted with the exit door as the summer transfer window edges closer, including the likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard - both of whom who featured against Liverpool.

"They lacked quality, they were so far off. You look at the Manchester United fans, they don’t look surprised by the score-line. They kept going to the end but you felt as though Liverpool could score whenever they wanted when they went forward."
