Roy Keane agrees with Reece James on Chelsea moment as Thomas Tuchel told special attribute

Roy Keane has agreed with Reece James on what his special attribute is following Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Manchester United. The 22-year-old defender was recalled to his duties at wing-back and proved a constant threat to Ralf Rangnick's side.

James came close to finding the net at Old Trafford, but failed to do so and insisted that he mustn't dwell on rued chances. The Cobham graduate explained his dissatisfaction with how he took the opportunity which hit the post, knowing that a goal could've extended the Blues' point advantage over Arsenal and Tottenham in the race for top-four.

Speaking to Sky Sports, James said: "No, it did not look in to be fair and I knew straight away that I should have scored, but life goes on and we can’t dwell on it."

Roy Keane, won over by the England international's maturity, showered James with praise and lauded his display. Speaking also on Sky Sports, the former United midfielder said: "I like that attitude from him, but he said life goes on - I would like him to be a little bit more frustrated than that!

"But what a player Chelsea have on their hands here," Keane added. "He’s 22-years-old, he looks like a boxer, he is a powerful boy, a fit lad, what a game he had tonight."

James' dazzling displays have also caught the interest of Real Madrid, who've put him at the top of their transfer list this summer, according to the Mirror. Carlo Ancelotti and his entourage were reportedly impressed by his performance when Chelsea faced the Spanish giants in the Champions League quarter-final.

The Mirror add that Real Madrid have watched James on nine occasions this season as Ancelotti looks to revamp his ageing side. Los Blancos' interest in the Blues defender follows growing uncertainty in their defence, with Lucas Vazquez - a forward - often having to fill in for Dani Carvajal.

Though while Keane and Redknapp's glowing review will cement Real Madrid's interest, James has become a staple in Thomas Tuchel's starting eleven and has often been central to much of the west London side's success since first breaking through under Frank Lampard in 2019.
